Welcome to Love and Other Rugs—a newsletter that centers around a single belief that the search for romance and the search for home furnishings are one and the same. I’m looking for both—neither professionally nor very well.

I guess this is what happens when a home editor becomes a vibrator salesman. This newsletter promises just as much sage wisdom as it does satire. It also brings my favorite shops, bars, and objet. I’ll answer questions like: can we break up with our dining table? Are men just barstools with two less legs? Should you judge a couch by its slip cover?

Ultimately, filling a home is just like finding a man.
